Official Steps

  1. 1

    Entrance Exam Weightage (75%)

    EAPCET marks out of 160 are converted to a 75-point score.

    EAPCET Component = (EAPCET Score / 160) * 75

    Example: 105 / 160 * 75 = 49.219

  2. 2

    Intermediate Group Subject Weightage (25%)

    Intermediate group percentage is converted to a 25-point score.

    Intermediate Component = (Group % / 100) * 25

    Example: 92% -> (92 / 100) * 25 = 23.00

  3. 3

    Combined Merit Score

    Add both components together for the 100-mark ranking score.

    Total = 49.219 + 23.00 = 72.219 / 100

    Example: 72.219 / 100

Official Tie-Breaking Order

What this cutoff score means

The number this calculator produces is your merit or cutoff score, measured out of 100. APSCHE & TGCHE does not publish a rank directly from your marks; it converts your marks into this single normalised score and then ranks every eligible candidate against it.

During counselling, your score is compared against the closing cutoff of each course and college. If your score is at or above the closing score for a course in your preferred college list, you become eligible to be offered that seat in that round. Cutoffs move every year because candidate volume, exam difficulty and the reservation seat matrix all change, so treat this number as an estimate of your position — not a guaranteed admission.

The score alone is not enough. Your reservation category, your domicile, the quota you are eligible for (such as management, minority, or government quota), and the number of seats available in that course all feed into the final allotment. If two candidates land on the same score, the tie-breaking order published by APSCHE & TGCHE decides who is placed higher.

Because this rule is not a single exam score, it combines 2 separate inputs. Enter each value exactly as printed on your own marksheet — the official formula only works on the same scale the authority used.

What you need to enter

APSCHE & TGCHE builds this cutoff from the following values. Take the numbers from your own Class 12 marksheet or entrance scorecard — do not round or estimate them.

Inputs required to calculate the AP & TS EAPCET Composite Cutoff Calculator cutoff
Input Range Unit What it means
EAPCET Score EAPCET Entrance Marks 0 to 160 (step 0.25) out of 160 Marks scored in AP/TS EAPCET exam (max 160)
Inter Group % Intermediate Group Subjects % (PCM / PCB) 0 to 100 (step 0.1) % (out of 100) Percentage of marks in group subjects (Maths/Bio, Physics, Chemistry) in 10+2 / Intermediate

Practical marks and internal assessment are included when the authority includes them. Check the official brochure on cets.apsche.ap.gov.in before entering values.

Formula & step-by-step breakdown

Governing equation

Composite = ((EAPCET Score / 160) * 75) + ((Inter Group % / 100) * 25)

Final merit score: 100 marks (/ 100). This is the exact rule published by APSCHE & TGCHE for 2025-2026 admissions.

Printed notation

Composite Score (out of 100) = (EAPCET Marks / 160) * 75 + (Inter Group % / 100) * 25

Exactly as written in the official admission brochure. Shown as plain text for clarity.

Step-by-step calculation

Work through these 3 steps in order and you will arrive at the same score this page calculates for you. Each step is the published rule, not an approximation.

    Example: 92% -> (92 / 100) * 25 = 23.00

  3. 3

    Combined Merit Score

    Add both components together for the 100-mark ranking score.

    Total = 49.219 + 23.00 = 72.219 / 100

    Example: 72.219 / 100

Official rules & eligibility

These are the conditions published by APSCHE & TGCHE. A strong cutoff score does not help if you fail any of them.

Minimum qualifying marks in EAPCET exam for OC and BC candidates is 40 out of 160 (25%).

No minimum qualifying mark is prescribed for SC and ST candidates.

Intermediate group subjects include Mathematics (or Biology), Physics, and Chemistry.

Tie-breaking order

When two or more applicants land on exactly the same cutoff score, APSCHE & TGCHE resolves the rank position using the following hierarchy, in order:

  1. 1. Total marks secured in EAPCET examination
  2. 2. Marks secured in Mathematics / Biology in EAPCET
  3. 3. Marks secured in Physics in EAPCET
  4. 4. Percentage of marks in the qualifying examination
  5. 5. Candidate older in age

Your final rank also depends on your reservation category, domicile and the seats available in the round. Two candidates with identical scores and identical subject marks can still finish in different positions because a reserved candidate is ranked within the reserved list for that course.

EAPCET Cutoff questions answered

The questions students ask most about this specific admission rule.

Does Telangana (TS EAPCET) still use 25% IPE weightage?

Telangana has waived the 25% intermediate weightage in recent sessions so that ranking is based 100% on the normalized EAPCET entrance score. However, this calculator provides both the 75:25 composite score and raw entrance score metrics for AP and TS aspirants.

What is the qualifying mark in EAPCET?

Candidates must score at least 40 out of 160 (25%) to qualify for ranking (exempted for SC/ST).

How EAPCET Cutoff compares to other entrance exams

Cutoff scores are not comparable across exams because each authority normalises differently. What you can compare is the structure of each rule: the maximum score, how many inputs it takes, and how the components are weighted.

What to do after you get your cutoff

  1. 1. Compare against last year's closing cutoff

    Find the closing score for each of your preferred colleges and branches for 2025-2026, then check whether your score clears it. Closing cutoffs, not opening cutoffs, are the realistic benchmark.

  2. 2. Register for counselling on the official portal

    Only APSCHE & TGCHE can allot you a seat. Complete the counselling registration on the official website, keep the application number safe, and pay the counselling fee within the published deadline.

  3. 3. Get your certificates ready early

    Community, nativity, income and disability certificates take weeks. Apply through your school or the taluk office as soon as the certificate window opens, because you cannot choose a preferred college without them.

  4. 4. Build a wide preference list

    APSCHE & TGCHE usually allots in rounds. A long, realistic preference list of colleges and branches protects you if your first choice is filled in an earlier round.

  5. 5. Keep a second option in a nearby state

    Cutoff scores move every year, so keep a realistic backup course or college ready rather than betting on one target score.

  6. 6. Save or share your result

    Use the share or copy button above to keep a record of the score and the inputs you used — it hands you text you can paste anywhere. Printing still works from the browser's own Ctrl + P, which leaves out the controls and keeps the score, the breakdown and the formula. Both help when filling the counselling form and when checking with a mentor.
