Formula & Step-by-Step Breakdown
Merit Marks = ((Board PCM Theory / 300) * 60) + ((GUJCET PCM / 120) * 40)
Official Steps
-
1
Board PCM Theory Marks (60% Weightage)
Theory marks scored in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (max 300) are converted to a 60-point score.
Board Component = (Board PCM / 300) * 60
Example: (250 / 300) * 60 = 50.00
-
2
GUJCET Marks (40% Weightage)
GUJCET marks (max 120) are converted to a 40-point score. This raw-score scaling is a proxy for the official GUJCET percentile.
GUJCET Component = (GUJCET / 120) * 40
Example: (95 / 120) * 40 = 31.667
-
3
ACPC Merit Marks
Sum both components to obtain your merit score out of 100.
Merit Marks = 50.00 + 31.667 = 81.667 / 100
Example: 81.667 / 100

What this cutoff score means
The number this calculator produces is your merit or cutoff score, measured out of 100. Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) does not publish a rank directly from your marks; it converts your marks into this single normalised score and then ranks every eligible candidate against it.
During counselling, your score is compared against the closing cutoff of each course and college. If your score is at or above the closing score for a course in your preferred college list, you become eligible to be offered that seat in that round. Cutoffs move every year because candidate volume, exam difficulty and the reservation seat matrix all change, so treat this number as an estimate of your position — not a guaranteed admission.
The score alone is not enough. Your reservation category, your domicile, the quota you are eligible for (such as management, minority, or government quota), and the number of seats available in that course all feed into the final allotment. If two candidates land on the same score, the tie-breaking order published by Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) decides who is placed higher.
Because this rule is not a single exam score, it combines 2 separate inputs. Enter each value exactly as printed on your own marksheet — the official formula only works on the same scale the authority used.
What you need to enter
Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) builds this cutoff from the following values. Take the numbers from your own Class 12 marksheet or entrance scorecard — do not round or estimate them.
| Input | Range | Unit | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Board Theory 12th Board PCM Theory Marks | 0 to 300 (step 0.5) | out of 300 | PCM theory marks in the 12th Board (practical marks excluded, max 300). Board weightage is 60 of the 100 merit marks. |
| GUJCET Score GUJCET Entrance Marks | 0 to 120 (step 0.25) | out of 120 | Physics (40) + Chemistry (40) + Maths (40) in GUJCET (max 120). GUJCET weightage is 40 of the 100 merit marks. IMPORTANT: the official ACPC merit ranks on the GUJCET PERCENTILE from the ACPC percentile table, not on the raw score. This calculator scales your raw score linearly as a proxy ((GUJCET / 120) * 40), so this component is an estimate — check your real merit against the ACPC percentile table. |
Practical marks and internal assessment are included when the authority includes them. Check the official brochure on acpc.gujarat.gov.in before entering values.
Formula & step-by-step breakdown
Governing equation
Merit Marks = ((Board PCM Theory / 300) * 60) + ((GUJCET PCM / 120) * 40)
Final merit score: 100 marks (Merit Marks / 100). This is the exact rule published by Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) for 2025-2026 admissions.
Printed notation
Merit Marks (out of 100) = (Board PCM Theory / 300) * 60 + (GUJCET PCM / 120) * 40
Exactly as written in the official admission brochure. Shown as plain text for clarity.
Step-by-step calculation
Work through these 3 steps in order and you will arrive at the same score this page calculates for you. Each step is the published rule, not an approximation.

Official rules & eligibility
These are the conditions published by Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC). A strong cutoff score does not help if you fail any of them.
Prescribed by Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), Government of Gujarat.
Only theory marks of Board PCM are considered (practical marks are excluded).
Eligibility: Minimum 45% (135/300) in PCM theory for Open Category; 40% (120/300) for SC/ST/SEBC/EWS.
The official merit list ranks on the GUJCET percentile published in the ACPC percentile table, which is not the same as the raw score out of 120.
Tie-breaking order
When two or more applicants land on exactly the same cutoff score, Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) resolves the rank position using the following hierarchy, in order:
- 1. Higher marks in GUJCET Mathematics
- 2. Higher marks in GUJCET Physics
- 3. Higher marks in Board Theory Mathematics
- 4. Higher marks in Board Theory Physics
- 5. Candidate older in age
Your final rank also depends on your reservation category, domicile and the seats available in the round. Two candidates with identical scores and identical subject marks can still finish in different positions because a reserved candidate is ranked within the reserved list for that course.
GUJCET ACPC questions answered
The questions students ask most about this specific admission rule.
Does ACPC use 50:50 or 60:40 weighting?
ACPC uses 60% Class 12 Board PCM theory marks and 40% GUJCET, both normalised to a 100-point merit scale. We could not find any published ACPC notification amending this to 50:50, so this calculator applies the documented 60:40 rule.
Why does this calculator use my raw GUJCET score instead of the official percentile?
The official ACPC merit list ranks on the GUJCET percentile from the ACPC percentile table, and that percentile is not the same as your raw score out of 120. Because the percentile table cannot be evaluated offline, this calculator scales the raw score linearly ((GUJCET / 120) * 40) as a proxy. Treat that component as an estimate and verify your real merit marks against the ACPC percentile table on acpc.gujarat.gov.in.
How GUJCET ACPC compares to other entrance exams
Cutoff scores are not comparable across exams because each authority normalises differently. What you can compare is the structure of each rule: the maximum score, how many inputs it takes, and how the components are weighted.

What to do after you get your cutoff
-
1. Compare against last year's closing cutoff
Find the closing score for each of your preferred colleges and branches for 2025-2026, then check whether your score clears it. Closing cutoffs, not opening cutoffs, are the realistic benchmark.
-
2. Register for counselling on the official portal
Only Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) can allot you a seat. Complete the counselling registration on the official website, keep the application number safe, and pay the counselling fee within the published deadline.
-
3. Get your certificates ready early
Community, nativity, income and disability certificates take weeks. Apply through your school or the taluk office as soon as the certificate window opens, because you cannot choose a preferred college without them.
-
4. Build a wide preference list
Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) usually allots in rounds. A long, realistic preference list of colleges and branches protects you if your first choice is filled in an earlier round.
-
5. Keep a second option in a nearby state
Cutoff scores move every year, so keep a realistic backup course or college ready rather than betting on one target score.
-
6. Save or share your result
Use the share or copy button above to keep a record of the score and the inputs you used — it hands you text you can paste anywhere. Printing still works from the browser's own Ctrl + P, which leaves out the controls and keeps the score, the breakdown and the formula. Both help when filling the counselling form and when checking with a mentor.
Looking at a different state?
If you are also applying outside Gujarat, these admission rules are governed by different authorities with different weightage formulas, so their cutoff scores are not directly comparable with yours.
